Our research
Excellent research creates the conditions for the development of innovative answers to regional and global challenges. Sustainability as well as climate and environmental protection have been important components of the University of Graz for many years.
This can be seen in numerous initiatives in research and teaching, in which the University of Graz plays a pioneering role in the national and international context. To this end, it places special emphasis on fields of excellence that are characterized by outstanding achievements, international successes as well as socially relevant aspects. To this end, the University of Graz has defined five profile areas. Researchers join forces to answer significant questions across traditional disciplinary boundaries and develop strategies to help shape the future. One of these profile areas, Climate Change Graz deals with human-induced climate change, which is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century.
Research Network Environment and Global Change
In the Research Network Environment and Global Change (EGC Graz), the focus of research is on monitoring climate and environmental change, and the EGC identifies pathways for sustainable regional development.
Profile areas Climate Change
How much fever does the earth have? How is climate protection fair? Why are we paying for climate change in Asia? Do we have a right to climate protection? How do we achieve climate change? - These are the questions addressed by the interdisciplinary top-level research at the University of Graz.
